EC ends Hispanic Heritage Month with Food and Music Celebration

Free food, music, and dance is how EC will end the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 30, Breanna Von Stein, student services specialist, said.

The Food and Music Celebration will take place on the Library Lawn from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a highlight being the Salsa Club performing Latin dances, Von Stein said.

Galletas, taquitos, and aguas frescas like horchata are some examples of the food that will be at the celebration, Jaynie Ishikawa, director of staff and student diversity, said.

These events are sponsored by the The Office of Staff and Student Diversity, The Graduation Initiative, and the Social Justice Program, according to the Hispanic Heritage Month flier.

Another event the campus is having to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month is an exhibit in Schauerman Library until Oct. 3.
